RECEPTION APRIL 8 AT 6:30-8:30PM
HONORING ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN,
CHAIR, HOUSE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE
HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO JUNE 10.

As you are aware, and as the tv and radio news has continuously reported, there is a crisis of monumental proportions brewing in Washington, D.C.

The Democrats want an increase in taxes and the Republicans want more spending cut from the budget.

If the members of Congress can not come to some agreement by Friday, at least enough of an agreement to vote to accept a resolution to continue funding the government at current levels for a period of time, the federal government will shut down at midnight on Friday.

What that means is that as of midnight on Friday, the government no longer is authorized to issue checks.

Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen feels it would not be appropriate, responsible, nor proper for her to travel to Southern California with such a situation pending, and so, regrettably, she is having to cancel her events here in Southern California this coming weekend and postpone them until June.

Please watch your inbox for more information about the new date.  Thank you for your interest and support.  The Congresswoman has been very gratified and is most appreciative.

If you  have any questions, please contact Sheila McNichols at 626-969-1304.

Sincerely,

Luis Alvarado

Because...
Soy Republicano
Porque...
I believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.
I believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.
I believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs the least.
I believe the most effective, responsible and responsive government is the government closest to the people.
I believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
I believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom, and human rights throughout the world.
Finally, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

What Santorum Didn't Need -- Sharron Angle's Endorsement (ContributorNetwork)
ContributorNetwork - COMMENTARY | Former Nevada assemblywoman Sharron Angle announced her endorsement of Rick Santorum for president through a statement released to The National Review on Wednesday. Given that she is popular among some tea party factions, the endorsement could help the uber-conservative Santorum in some political circles. But Angle is seen as an extremist by most leaning -- well, simply leaning anywhere to the left of her political views.
